Healthcare Heroes

Healthcare Heroes of Greater Williamsburg was created in 1999 as a recognition event to honor local individuals, organizations and programs serving the health care community in extraordinary ways. Awards were named for early health care leaders in the Williamsburg community: Dr. Baxter I. Bell, Sr., Dr. J. Blaine Blayton, The Reverend Thomas Pugh, and Vernon M. Geddy, Jr. A local non-profit health agency is designated by each hero to receive a grant award of $10,000.
